The SIRDC, a Research & Development (R & D) and Technology Transfer organization, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following senior position:

1. Director – Biotechnology Research Institute (BRI)

• Duties and Responsibilities
• Directing the effective delivery of research and development programmes In Biotechnology.
• Providing leadership that motivates staff in their work.
• Ensure implementation of the Stage GateProcess in all Institute activities.
• To promote the good image of BRI.
• Marketing Institute services and generation of revenue from contract research and consultancy work. To provide management and budget control in the Institute’s projects.
• To promote networking of BRI with similar bodies at both the national and international levels. Preparing technical reports and making presentations.
• Performing such other functions that Management may assign from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience

A PhD qualification and at least 10 years solid working experience in an R & D institution or in industry. Applicants must have demonstrable leadership qualities to lead research staff and ability to manage research programmes.
