Job Summary

Role Profile Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in spearheading the Bank’s participation in national development programs within the Matabeleland South Province in line with Government policy initiatives and directives in the agriculture space. The position demands a self-starter, innovative, dynamic and a self-driven person who is able to develop business at the provincial level and contribute to the Bank’s lending book. The individual must have capacity to identify business opportunities in the agriculture value chain specific to the area and conceptualize winning strategies to exploit these opportunities. Incumbent will work hand in glove with the Business Development Manager to achieve drive the Bank’s vision.

Duties And Responsibilities

Assist in the acquisition and development profitable relationships at provincial level on both commercial and Development scales to contribute towards the achievement of the overall
bank strategy
Help in spearhead the Bank’s participation in national development programs in line with government policy initiatives and directives in the agriculture space.
Work closely with government departments involved in Agriculture projects and exploit any opportunities that arise with a view to capacitate and develop small holder farming communities .
Optimizing service processes and systems, and tracking customer performance on a regular basis.
Provide reports on all provincial activities (operational and business) Oversee and manage the entire credit application process, right from loan origination up to disbursement in conjunction with the credit department.
Review and asses loan appraisals to evaluate clients’ creditworthiness.
Manage credit risk and provide independent oversight of the Bank’s portfolio.
Manage post disbursement documents and partly disbursed cases.
Manage debt settlements and loan renewals by discussing with clients.
Contribute to reporting by updating provincial business activities.

Qualifications And Experience
Must have a Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Business, Accounting or Agricultural Economics.
A post graduate qualification in Credit Management is an added advantage.
At least 5 years’ relevant experience in bank lending,
3 years at a supervisory level.
Experience with credit analysis including use of applicable financial analysis tools.
High-level analytical skills.
Advanced knowledge of accounting software/computer based banking operations.
Good in-depth knowledge of continually evolving credit scoring and financial services products.
Good understanding of lending procedures.
Excellent communication & interpersonal skills for negotiation and reconciliation.
Fluent in local vernacular languages i.e. IsiNdebele and or Tonga.
Exceptional attention to detail and report writing.
