Job Summary
We are looking for a driven female accounting Intern with a basic understanding of GAAP and financial principles and terms who is ready for an immersive, real-world experience. Under the supervision of our senior staff, the Accounting Intern can expect to participate in the preparation of journal entries and financial reports, analyze actual financial data, learn more about bookkeeping software, and assist with other accounting activities. You should be a motivated team player who can maintain efficiency and accuracy when multitasking.
Duties And Responsibilities
Preparation of petty cash ledgers
• To liaise and process payments to other service providers
• To process internal requisitions for funds to be allocated.
• To monitor legal and Regulatory Compliance Issues such as ZIMRA and NSSA and keep track of payment dates before they fall due
• Assist in the development of various accountability vouchers for use in the finance office
• Assist in preparing and supporting cash transactions and source documents
• Detailed record keeping and filling of accounting and finance documents
• Assist in the administration duties upon authorization
• To provide support with maintaining and monitoring of Departmental Budgets.
• To provide support with the management of all Invoices raised, ledgers and expenses.
• To provide support with the reconciliation of all accounts.
• To provide support with processing receipts and payments.
• To check company bank statements
• To prepare income & expenditure accounts, cash flow statements etc
• To deal with financial paperwork and filing
• To deal with accounts related queries, concerns and comments from external agencies, donors and organisations in an efficient and effective manner.
• To undertake any reasonable responsibilities as required by line manager
Qualifications And Experience
- A third year student taking a Bachelors` Degree in Finance/Accounting or any
related qualification.
· Computing skills, including the ability to operate computerized accounting, MS
Office suite
· Have good communication skills in written and spoken English.
· Accuracy and efficiency when completing data entry tasks
· Have good analytical skills and must be proactive.
· Solid organizational skills as well as the ability to be flexible and work well
under pressure
