Job Summary
The surge nurse offers direct service delivery for the HIV prevention, care and treatment support and TB programs. The surge nurse works towards achievement of the UNAIDS 95,95,95 targets through scale up activities including integrated outreaches.
Contract period – 1st May 2022 to 30th September 2022 non-renewable
Duties And Responsibilities
Offer HIV testing services through high impact evidence-based interventions; To scale up HIV Self-Test (HIVST) as a screening HIV test in selected post catchment areas targeting high risk populations. (Key populations, STI clients, TB patients); Provide index testing for partners, children (families) of PLHIV, assess for IPV; Provide EID to HIV exposed infants and link positive infants to care; Implement strategies to ensure high viral load (VL) coverage, differentiated service delivery models (DSD), TB preventive therapy (TPT), cervical cancer screening coverage for eligible women LHIV, and TB screening and testing under the targeted TB testing strategy; Initiate and participate in Quality Improvement activities; Document in all relevant registers, support routine data collection, weekly and monthly timely reporting through the parent clinic; Managing HTS commodities and OI/ART medicines required for service provision.
Qualifications And Experience
Minimum of a Registered General Nurse or Primary Care Nurse qualification; HIV Rapid testing and counselling qualification is a distinct advantage; Previous mobilizing, HIV testing, and M&E experience would be an added advantage; Good standing with the community being served is a must; Good knowledge of English and report writing skills required.
