Strive for Zero Harm to our employees and contractors and minimum impact of our processes on environment by working together with management and employees to coordinate the implementation and maintenance of Health, Safety and Environment Management systems and to comply with Legal and other EHS requirements.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Implementation and maintenance of WCM EHS pillars and applicable ISO
Management Systems (ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001 Implementation and
maintenance of Saint-Gobain Safety Standards.
• Ensure compliance to EHS Regulations and Legal Requirements such as
Licenses and Permits and communicating reportable incidents.
• Create and coordinate EHS annual plan to meet the set targets.
• Manage Personal Protective Clothing (PPE) requirements and distribution
Monitor and report on EHS indicators to ensure achievement of the set targets.
• Coordinate and participate in initiatives aimed at moving the site towards a
Safely Culture that will be maintained autonomously Investigate incidents root-
cause and implement preventative measures to prevent recurrence.
• Educate employees on health, safety and environment standards and
expectations by conducting awareness training and arranging external training
where necessary.
• Conduct self-assessments audits and coordinate the necessary internal and
external audits.
• Ensure the medical surveillance programs is fully implemented and maintained.
• Ensure all the necessary industrial hygiene surveys are conducted and
corrective action programs instituted.
• Review and approve contractor safety files to ensure compliance to Saint-
Gobain EHS rules.
• Inspect equipment and processes to ensure health and safety of employees.
• Reviewing and reporting on compliance with EHS rules.
• Assessment of Health and Safety Risks through task based risk assessment
and Environment Aspects and Impacts.
• Manage Incidents Reporting to ensure reporting, investigations and action
closure on incidents reported.
• Maintain Health, Safety and Environment documentation such as procedures,
accidents, training records and related events.
• Involvement in SGCP corporate social responsibility
• Daily and monthly reports.
• Monthly and annual reporting into GAIA as well as updating of all events.
• Recording and updating of SMAT boards as well as update of notice boards
around the site.
Qualifications And Experience
Minimum Degree in Occupational Health Safety and Environment or Equivalent
•OSHEMAC or equivalent
• ISO 9001/14001/45001 Implementation and auditing
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience
• Strong analytical and interpretation skills
• Possess a formal ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 auditing qualification
• Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to interact with all role players, customers, and ISO/WCM Auditors at all
levels
• Ability to gain a win-win in negotiations
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and reach objectives
• Project, planning and time management skills
• Technical report writing competence
