An exciting opportunity for Chef position has arisen for suitably qualified, motivated and experienced persons at our Headquarters Office. The successful incumbent will report directly to respective Human Resources Officer.

Key Responsibilities

• Cook foodstuffs according to menus, special dietary or nutritional restrictions and numbers of portions to be served

• Clean and inspect kitchen appliances and work areas in order to ensure cleanliness and functional operation

• Direct activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.

• Compile and maintain records of food use and expenditures

• Determine meal prices based on calculations of ingredient prices

• Requisition of food supplies, kitchen equipment and appliances based on estimates of future needs

• Apportion and serve food to employees or patrons

• Monitor menus and spending in order to ensure that meals are prepared economically

• Plan menus that are varied nutritionally; balanced and appetising

• Taking advantage of foods in season and local availability

• Take inventory of supplies and equipment.

• Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Skills and knowledge

• Ability to use hand tools, stand or walk for extending periods

• Knowledge of food preparation techniques

• Strong organizational communication skills

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the catering industry

• At least National Certificate in relevant field

• Minimum of 5 Ordinary Level Passes including English
