Position summary

The Technical Advisor Consultant will be responsible for leading implementation of key DREAMS activities in-country through leading mentorship training and post-mentorship support, retention analysis and career progression and contributes to the development of the curriculum and materials. Objectives of the consultancy are as follows:

  • Review of the existing DREAMS mentor curricula.
  • Make recommendations for enhancements of the current program and consensus building workshop.
  • Development of training materials.
  • Supplemental mentor training and post-training mentorship support.
  • Develop a retention tracking tool.
  • Develop standard operating procedures for career progression.

Qualifications and experience

The consultant should have:

  • At minimum a master’s degree in Development, Health Promotions, Communication, Public Health or Social Sciences.
  • 10 years’ experience of developing HIV, gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and Life Skills materials for Adolescent Girls and Young Women;
  • Knowledge and experience in development of health-related documentation and communication materials;
  • Knowledge and experience in using evidence-based, participatory approaches and innovative documentation and communication techniques for various audiences;
  • Well versed with health, reproductive maternal newborn and child health and family planning (RMNCH / FP), adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH), HIV and GBV programming for young people, women, and communities.
  • Excellent analytical and technical writing skills for donors, communities, and development stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of the development context in Zimbabwe and Africa.
  • Clearly stated references for work previously performed as well as documentation and communication products previously produced in similar areas.
