JOB DESCRIPTION
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Shaft Timberman which has arisen at Turk Mine.
Reporting to: The Shift Boss (Shafts & Projects)
The incumbent needs the following skill sets:
- Be able to effectively conduct weekly shaft maintenance, document findings and comply with all the mining statutory requirements
- Must have sound knowledge of shaft sinking, construction and equipping
- Good inter-personal skills and management of shaft and hoisting teams
- Literate and has good report writing skills
REQUIREMENTS
- Full blasting license holder (NEC registered will be an added advantage)
- At least 3 years’ experience as a Shaft Timberman
- Experience in both vertical and inclined shafts
