Africaid is a community organisation which through its Zvandiri programme, integrates community prevention, treatment, care and support for children, adolescents and young people living with HIV. Works with the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) and National AIDS Council in implementing these interventions with funding from USAID, Zim-TTECH, UNICEF, ELMA, READY+, Maruva Trust and ZACH.

Job description

The Regional Coordinator will be responsible for defining, planning, tracking, managing and leading the work of the Zvandiri Mentors (ZM), coordinating scale up of Africaid’s Zvandiri model and Community Adolescent Treatment Supporters (CATS). Also ensuring quality at all levels of programme implementation, monitoring and evaluation, finance and reporting. This role will include amongst other things, overseeing all activities in the provinces in accordance with the approved project work plans as well as management of project deliverables in line with the project plan. Remain up to date with paediatric and adolescent HIV global and national policy and practice and cascade within the provinces. Oversee all programming activities in the provinces in accordance with the approved project work plans as well as record and manage project issues and escalate where necessary. Remain up to date with paediatric and adolescent HIV global and national policy and practice and cascade within the provinces; consolidate project reports and analyse results ensuring timelines on submission of progress reports are observed as required for Africaid and the project donors. Liaise with partners and local stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of project activities.

Qualifications

The Regional Coordinator must have:

• Master’s degree in social work, social science or related field;
• Diploma in General Nursing a plus;
• A minimum of three years’ experience in community public health interventions and development;
• Comprehensive understanding of the Africaid Zvandiri Model desirable;
• Technical working knowledge and experience of HIV programming;
• Knowledge of and experience in working with the Ministry of Health and Child Care;
• Strong report writing and computer skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills: verbal, written, listening, presentation and facilitation;
• Demonstrated experience in children and adolescent HIV programming, including community, peer-led interventions;
• Good command of written and spoken English a must, knowledge of local languages essential.
