Catholic Relief Services is the official international humanitarian agency of the Catholic community in the United States of America. CRS’ relief and development work is accomplished through programs of emergency response, HIV, health, agriculture, education, microfinance, and peacebuilding. Zimbabwe program implements projects through 14 partner organizations in 30 districts in the areas of health, OVC, education, food security and agricultural livelihoods, and peacebuilding.
Job summary
The successful candidate will assist the department in monitoring and reporting for the Pathways project to ensure that the project consistently applies best practices and works towards improving the impact of its benefits to those we serve in line with Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) mission to serve the poor and vulnerable.
Responsibilities
Supporting compliance with the Agency and donor MEAL requirements; Assisting MEAL Officers in conducting field-based activities; Assisting in analyzing and reflecting on data collected by the project; Contributing initial findings and field-based insights to project discussions; Fostering respectful relationships with community members and stakeholders; Implementing activities according to MEAL Detailed Implementation Plan; Working with ICT staff to incorporate use of ICT4D into data collection, analysis, presentation, reporting and storage; Assisting in developing and ensuring maintenance of information tracking systems (tracking sheets or databases), especially Indicator Performance Tracking Table, for Health indicators; Periodically reviewing the Performance Indicator Tracking Table and using it regularly with project/partner staff to examine progress towards the projects annual and life targets and realization of the theory of change; Assisting in developing and revising data collection tools for the project; Assisting in the identification, documentation and sharing of lessons, most significant change stories and best practices; Maintaining and supporting beneficiary accountability systems for the country program; Generating reports from DHIS 2 and POMIS database; Assisting in the compilation of reports for dissemination with donors and government ministries; Verifying data reported by partners, to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Education and experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Operations Research, Development Studies or related programs; At least 1 year working experience in monitoring, evaluation, and research; Experience in monitoring, evaluation and reporting of HIV programs will be an added advantage; Experience in PEPFAR OVC programming requirements; Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), (SPSS, Databases, GIS, Access)
