Island Hospice and Healthcare (Island) is a national palliative care organisation with four branches in Zimbabwe. Island is looking for an experienced Palliative Care Nurse with project management background. The candidate is expected to provide quality holistic care to all patients and families needing palliative care, including special populations that include children, older persons and people living with disability etc. Be able to work in an interdisciplinary team. Responsible for provision of care, project management, training and capacity building of Allied health professionals, community health workers as well as other community members needing palliative care training. Able to work with all levels of volunteers. Participate in writing of project proposals and project implementation.

The ideal candidate should have the following competencies:

Clinical expertise; Ability to manage a project, with proposal writing skills; Conduct project activities; Ability to apply multiple models of palliative care provision; Training, mentorship and capacity building skills; Management of medical equipment; Ordering of medications including DDAs; Ability to interface Island Hospice with other organizations; Report writing skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

Nursing Diploma (SRN); Palliative care knowledge is an added advantage; Diploma in Project Management (an added advantage); At least 5 years’ experience in the NGO sector; Clean Class 4 driver’s license a must.
