Objective
Under the overall guidance of the Chief of Mission (CoM) and direct supervision of the Head of Programmes, IOM seeks the services of a reputable national consultant with a deep understanding and experience in micro-economic and small business set-up in Zimbabwe, coupled with proven expertise in business planning and strategy, to develop suitable business plans for pre-approved Income generating Activities (IGAs) that will guide the creation of sustainable livelihood interventions in the provinces of Manicaland, Masvingo and Matabeleland South.
Furthermore, in close collaboration with IOM, the consultant will be responsible for conducting research on and selecting 20 local monitors in the three provinces, with proven technical skills in the areas of the IGAs, as well as to develop and facilitate a training of trainers (TOT) on basic entrepreneurial development and management skills (“start-your-business” and management short courses) to the selected monitors.
These activities should consider the current socio-economic, demographic (youth and women), and public health challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Target
To provide technical support to IOM on start-up and management of small business in Zimbabwe to assist 1,800 vulnerable households in the economic recovery activities in Manicaland, Masvingo and Matabeleland South provinces.
