A local NGO seeks to recruit for the post of Legal/ Programme Assistant who will support the Access to Justice Interventions of the Women’s Rights Organisation.
Position summary
The role will include ensuring all interventions for access to justice remains a fundamental component that is relevant and integrated. The LA will also establish the local and national relationships that are necessary to ensure that the organisation’s programme on Access to Justice is fully informed by current trends and appropriately utilises the capacities of partners and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
Selection will be on a competitive basis and the following minimum qualifications, experience and competencies are required: Law degree plus professional experience, a Postgraduate degree in Law from a recognized university will be an added advantage; Candidates must be qualified to practice law or admitted to practice by the law society of Zimbabwe; A minimum of two years relevant experience in a private practice or local NGO with track record of court appearance in both civil and criminal matters; Fluency in English and local language skills; Working knowledge of women’s rights and gender based violence is an added advantage; High technical and conceptual competence as well as rigorous intellectual integrity; Excellent drafting skills in respect of legal and administrative instruments coupled with proven ability to negotiate and build consensus with diverse stakeholders; Possession of high level of integrity; moral value; discretion and confidentiality ability to work with minimum supervision; Possession of a teamwork orientation and ability to interact harmoniously and effectively with colleagues from diverse disciplines, perspectives, countries and cultures.
