ZNNP+ is an umbrella body that represents the interests of people living with HIV in Zimbabwe in their diversity. The organization is represented in support groups and community-based organizations at all provincial, district and ward levels of Zimbabwe. Background and Project Outline
Zimbabwe National Network of People Living with HIV (ZNNP+) with support from its partners is implementing a project on reducing COVID-19 stigma and discrimination in education settings. The project work with teachers and learners so that cases of COVID-19 related stigma and discrimination are reduced among teachers and learners with underlying health conditions.
The objectives of the Project are to: To eliminate COVID-19 related-stigma and discrimination of learners with underlying health conditions in 40 secondary schools in Matabeleland North and South Provinces; To eliminate COVID-19 related-stigma and discrimination of teachers with underlying health conditions in 40 schools; To improve project impact, accountability and learning.
Scope and Purpose of Assignment
The purpose of this consultancy is to establish protocols for reporting COVID-19 related stigma and discrimination for teachers and learners
Duties and Responsibilities
The Consultant will: Produce an Inception Report with methodology, workplan, outputs and proposed data collection tools; Produce a draft protocols for review by key stakeholders; Produce a final report; Have protocols translated to local languages that are Ndebele and Shona.
Expected Outputs/Deliverables
Inception report with methodology, work plan and outputs; Final protocol recommendations.
Qualifications
The consultancy should prove to have done some work related to the assignment: At least two completed work with a similar scale and scope; Similar assignments traceable through verification; Experience in working with a team of people living with HIV professionals.
Education and Experience
The prospective consultant should have a first Degree in Public Health or Social Science/ Equivalent and with significant experience in research design and evaluations. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage; The consultant should have proven minimum 5 years’ experience in public health; Experience working on COVID-19 related interventions
