Job Purpose!
Reporting to the Director Supply Chain this job exists to oversee Pharmacy & Warehouse Operations in both Harare & Bulawayo Central Warehouses & provide technical support to PSI/Z Network of Pharmacies & site stores.
Duties And Responsibilities
Your Contribution – Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for review & implementation of SOPs for Pharmacy & Warehouse/stores facilities in line with PSI, Donor, MCAZ & Local Authority Rules & Regs.
• Maintains an up to date Medical Catalogue for pharmaceuticals & medical consumables.
• Monitors consumption trends & develops consumption forecasts for consolidated plus timely replenishment of pharmaceuticals & medical consumables for PSI/Z Network.
• Reviews inventory status reports produced by sites &advises on actions required to ensure equitable distribution of essential medicines/medical supplies.
• Provides technical support to the Procurement department on purchase of medical equipment & supplies.
• Provides technical input regarding structural renovations on existing or new pharmacies.
• Ensures proper storage conditions of commodities as per manufacturers specifications & that facility temperatures are monitored & recorded daily.
• Flags all materials approaching expiry as well as identifies & reports damaged, redundant & obsolete stocks.
• Maintains up to date stock movement records both Kardex & Quick Books Enterprise.
• Ensure all archived organizational records are well maintained & easily retrievable when required.
• Oversees the packing of condoms by contracted staff & ensures that production targets are achieved whilst consistently attaining set quality standards.
• Maintains service levels agreements with user departments to promote customer service orientation for key warehouse processes.
• Manages performance of warehouse staff & supports their continued learning & development.
• Ensures that pharmacy facilities & personnel in PSI/Z Network are licenced by MCAZ &relevant local authorities.
• Good facility maintenance including housekeeping & ensuring all security systems are functional i.e. alarm systems, mechanical structures & security guards.
• Promotes workplace safety & staff wellness initiatives.
• Accounts for all warehouse equipment & ensures timely servicing according to schedule
• Ensures stock status & operational reports are circulated in a timely manner to aid decision making.
• Monitors MCAZ website & Ministry of Health facilities for relevant literature on latest drug information & practice regulation &aligning them with PSI/Z practices.
Qualifications And Experience
What are we looking for?
• Pharmacy Technician Diploma or equivalent is a must.
• Five O levels including English Language
• Current registration with the Pharmacy Council of Zimbabwe.
• At least three years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a Medical Warehouse with liaisons with Natpharm, ART supply & National TB program supply chain.
• Good interpersonal &communication skills.
• Clean Class 4 Drivers licence.
• Willingness to work extended hours & travelling should the need arise.
