MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Information Security Specialist position exists to protect ZINARA’s computer network and data. Also assist in developing secure mobile access so that information can be safely accessed remotely via mobile devices. The position is responsible for operating IT security systems, performing security assessments and recommending mitigating actions, investigating security incidents, creating and distributing reports, promoting security awareness and participating in projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receives security incidents/requests from users on all hardware, software, and network problems, troubleshoots and find solutions to the said problems.
Conduct ongoing information security threats and vulnerability assessments.
Create and execute information security awareness training programmes for employees, contractors, and approved system users.
Disseminate information on cyber security threats.
Assist in the performance of Penetration Tests.
Implement recommendations of Internal/Externa I Audits. Perform periodic User Access Reviews.
Ensure that all security equipment is properly working, and the systems are always up and running.
Ensure thatthe CCTV equipment is working.
Service all security equipment and produces a report.
Maintain security systems and their associated software, such as intrusion detection/prevention systems, and anti-virus software for the organisation.
Create scripts to codify and automate common practices.
Ensure the antivirus server is working well and protecting ZINARA’s environment.
Ensure that security and integrity of data on ZINARA machines is maintained all the time and protect machines from malicious attack from viruses and spa m.
Ensure that all PCs have functioning passwords and the password policy on the Domain Controller is applied and maintained on the PCs.
Defend the internal network from outside, Internet cyber threats.
Configure security hardware and software such as firewalls, antivirus programs, and operating system updates.
Authorise personnel and provide login credentials for the network.
Detect any unauthorised attempts to access the system. Perform security audits on the network.
Upgrade current systems with the latest patches.

CISSP, CISM, CISA, Security+ or comparable Information Security Assurance certification 4. Minimum 4 years-experience. 5. Strong IT skills and knowledge including hardware, software and networks 6. Meticulous attention to detail 7. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of IT systems. 8. A forensic approach to challenges. 9. A deep understanding of how hackers work and ability to keep up with the fast pace of change in the criminal cyber-underworld. 10. Ability to seek out vulnerabilities in IT infrastructures.
