The Zimbabwe Livelihoods and Food Security Programme (LFSP), a Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) funded programme being implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in partnership with the Indaba Agricultural Policy Research Institute (IAPRI), a policy think tank based in Zambia for policy research and outreach component, seeks a Livelihoods and Food Security Expert to work with the Food and Nutrition Council (FNC) and LFSP/IAPRI in the development of a Digital Food and Nutrition Security Dashboard (DFNSD) that will help improve access to food and nutrition security information in the country. The scope of this assignment is to provide technical support and expertise for the establishment of the DFNSD, livelihoods and food and nutrition security analysis, as well as facilitating a pilot test of the dashboard.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered the consultant must meet the following requirements:
- A minimum of a BSc degree in a field relevant to this assignment such as Computer software development, Computer science, Information systems, Computer engineering, Data science, Artificial intelligence and machine learning or related field. Higher degree will be an added advantage;
- Knowledge of and proven expertise in database development in the agricultural sector, livelihoods and food security;
- Ability to conduct capacity building training sessions of users and data providers.
Key Deliverables
- Working closely with the FNC/IAPRI team and the Livelihoods and Food Security Expert to develop an open access interactive DFNSD, easily accessible on a smartphone, tablet, laptop and desktop computers;
- Debugging and modification in existing programs and subsequently developing these modifications;
- In collaboration with the Livelihoods and Food Security Expert and FNC, develop an operational manual for the DFNSD;
- Design capacity building materials and conduct training to FNC personnel on both the front and back end of the DFNSD.
