Mutasa Rural District Council is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacant position:
JOB TITLE: BUILDING INSPECTOR – GRADE 8
REPORTS TO: THE PLANNER
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Conducting building inspections and ensuring sound workmanship
- Ensuring that buildings / constructions adhere to standards.
- Enforcing the model building by-laws and the Public Health Act.
- Ensuring that there are no illegal developments taking place through Development Control.
- Maintaining and updating building inspections records and register
- Perform building plan appraisals.
- Preparation of Bill of Quantities for Council projects
- Inspect and recommend for approval of works and workmanship by building contractors.
- Production of projects programme of works and implementation thereof.
- Facilitation registration of artisans.

- Job Application Details QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE At least 5 O' Levels including English and Maths. At least Artisan Journeyman Class 1 in Bricklaying. At least three years post qualification experience in a similar position. Local government / Public Works experience is an added advantage. Ability to ride a motorbike is an added advantage. At least 30 years old and must be mature. A Clean Criminal record. Must be a Zimbabwean citizen. NB.
