The African Women Leaders Forum (AWLF) is a Programme that advances young women’s participation in Sub-Saharan Africa. Rooted in experiences of diverse young women in different societies in Africa, we are proud to have contributed towards building a critical mass of young women who are shaking the corridors of power in politics and decision making through training, cross-cultural, peer / intergenerational mentorship and solidarity and policy advocacy. We recently concluded a mapping exercise on the State of Young Women’s Political Participation in Africa. To build on our work as informed by the survey findings and our broader work towards young women’s participation in Africa, we are looking for a team member for the position of Documentation and Communications Associate.

Position summary

As our Documentation and Communications Associate, the candidate will support both our advocacy and knowledge units and have the opportunity to demonstrate ability to multitask, attention to detail, and motivation as they work in a deadline-oriented environment.

Duties

The position will deliver on the following duties:

Lead in the development and implementation of AWLF’s documentation and communications;
Produce knowledge products based on the implementation experiences and interactions with young women and women, various stakeholders and players;
Ensure IYWD’s communication strategy and plan are impact based and further leveraging our digital and social media footprint;
Through various communication channels, the work and impact of AWLF are effectively profiled and contribute to an improved understanding, support and engagement from individuals, partners and stakeholders;
Provide inputs in knowledge products and communication materials on IYWD programmes.
The position is for a 3 months fixed term and subject to renewal depending on availability of resources. The position is open for African citizens from East, West and Central African countries.
