The person reports to the Estate Manager
Watershed College is looking for a professional Housekeeper capable of managing a team, improving department efficiencies, implementing risk mitigation measures and maintaining cleanliness of College facilities with attention to detail for all students and staff, a critical factor in maintaining and strengthening our reputation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLILITES
Oversee all the cleaning and upkeep of facilities within the College, which includes all hostels, classrooms, school offices, public areas, the Pub, the Chapel and the Sports Pavilion.
Be in charge of all the maids and allocate duties to them as per housekeeping requirements.
Maintain accurate records/documentation and keep a record of maids’ attendance and leave.
Purchase and responsibly use resources while operating within budgetary controls.
Keep an up to date inventory of all service equipment.
Complete requisition forms for any repair works or jobs for sending to Maintenance workshop and follow-up.
Supervise the laundry service.
Prepare for all College functions such as meetings or other special events.
Quality control of all aspects of housekeeping including health and safety adhering to statutory obligations.
May be assigned to any other duties from time to time.

- Job Application Details EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A relevant professional qualification. Proven experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor or similar role in a school or hotel/hospitality industry. Knowledge of report writing and stock control. Computer literacy and ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products. Flexibility to work over weekends and adaptability to changing priorities. Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance. Excellent time management skills, organizational and interpersonal communication skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work. A minimum age of 40 years is preferred.
