Organisational Background

The Organisation of Rural Associations for Progress (ORAP) is a leading local NGO involved in development and relief (emergency) work in rural communities in Matabeleland North, Matabeleland South and Midlands provinces. It exists to fight all forms of poverty among the rural and urban grassroots communities of disadvantaged women, men and youth through the empowerment of people by facilitating their development in their diverse cultural contexts.

 

Position summary

The incumbent is expected to provide the monitoring, evaluation, and accountability function of ORAP programmes and operations

 

Major Duties/Responsibilities include:-

  • Consolidating annual reports
  • Identifying programming gaps and recommends remedial action
  • Designing strategies to ensure accountability to communities
  • Training staff in humanitarian accountability and quality assurance
  • Designing and produces promotional materials for the organization
  • Analysing monthly data for internal and external communication
  • Managing databases
  • Liaising with other departments in strengthening and implementing monitoring systems
  • Upholding the ORAP Vision, Mission and Strategic Plan
  • Carries out any other tasks as delegated by the NEW Coordinator

 

Qualifications

  • Degree in Social Sciences or any such related Degree.
  • Qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation, Operations Research, Statistics, or Knowledge Management an advantage

 

Experience

  • Minimum of five years’ experience of progressive responsibility in monitoring and evaluation field in a Non- governmental Organization set up
  • Proven experience in the design and implementation of M&E systems
  • Should have previously worked with people of different age groups in a culturally diverse environment

 

Relevant attributes

  • Computer literate and familiar with relevant software packages
  • Demonstrable ability to gather, analyze and interpret large volumes of data
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Management Information Systems (MIS).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Valid Class 4 driver’s license
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
