The Zimbabwe National Geospatial and Space Agency (ZINGSA) is a statutory body, established in terms of the Research Act [Chapter 10:22]. The Agency is mandated to promote peaceful use of space to develop initiatives that promote advances in Geospatial Science and Earth Observation, Space Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Space Science, Satellite Communication Systems and Global Navigation Satellite Systems.
ZINGSA is searching for suitable and qualified candidates to fill in the posts listed below which have arisen in the newly established Zimbabwe National Geospatial and Space Agency.
- GEOINFORMATION SCIENCES AND EARTH OBSERVATION DEPARTMENT
Scientists x 8
Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement national Geoinformation Science and Earth Observation strategy with emphasis on developing applications in remote sensing, image processing, biophysical modelling as defined by ZINGSA.
Qualifications:
At least an Undergraduate degree in the following: Geographic Information Science and Earth Observation with speciality in any of the following; Geology, Geophysics, Meteorology and Climatology, Surveying and Geomatics or Computer Science with practical competencies in Software Engineering or Programming.
- SPACE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
Engineers x 5
Responsibilities:
Providing Aerospace, Aeronautic and Astronautic Engineering services to ZINGSA programmesand projects.
Qualifications At least an Undergraduate degree in the following areas: Engineering with speciality in one of the following; Aerospace, Astronautical, Aeronautical Aircraft Design, Mechatronics, mechanical, electrical, Robotics and Unmanned Aerial Systems orPhysicsand Instrumentation or Computer Science with practical competencies in Software Engineering.
- SPACE SCIENCE DEPARTMENT
Scientists x 5
Responsibilities:
Conducting Scientific research in space science and applications for ZINGSA that will increase the understanding of the earth’s solar system with emphasis on Solar Physics, Astrophysics, and space weather.
Qualifications:
At least an Undergraduate degree in Space Science, Space Physics or related discipline.
- SPACE OPERATIONS AND LAUNCH SERVICES DEPART ME NT
Engineers x5
Responsibilities:
Preparation and implementation of Earth Observation and Satellite communication missions for ZINGSA.
Qualifications:
At least an Undergraduate degree in Telecommunications, Satellite Communication, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
Technicians x 3
Responsibilities:
Provide support services to telecommunications engineers and be responsible for Engineering Workshops.
Qualifications
At least a Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Telecommunications, Satellite Communication, Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
