Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful incumbent will be responsible for creating and maintaining a favorable public image for the Authority. This is a three (3) year Renewable Contract, based on performance. This position offers an opportunity for transforming this Strategic Organisation through the use of Public Relations expertise in building the ARDA Image as well as raising public awareness about the Authority.
Duties and Responsibilities
The PRO shall oversee, the planning and implementation of the Public Relations function which includes but is not limited to:
-Successful performance n this position requires an incumbent who possesses the following:
• Development and implementation of the Authority’s Public Relations Strategy;
• Building and maintaining a positive brand image for the Authority;
• Developing advertising and marketing communication material for the Authority; Designing and reviewing a variety of promotional and marketing materials;
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with all Authority’s Key Stakeholders;
• Fielding Media questions and pitching stories to the Media, preparing media kits and organizing Press Conferences;
• Writing Press Releases and other media communications on behalf of the Authority;
• Planning or directing the development of the Authority’s Programs to maintain favourable Public and Shareholder views of the organization’s Agenda and Accomplishments;c- Monitoring corporate image frequently and ensure it is in compliance with company brand;
• Checking out and managing content produced for the Authority’s Website, Electronic and Print Media as well as Social Media Channels;C. Coaching Senior Managers and Marketing Representations of Strategic Business Units (SBUs) and Head Office, effective communication with Key Stakeholders and the public in general;
• Preparing and editing Authority’s publications, including Employee Newsletters and Shareholder’s Reports, for internal and external audiences;
• Regular updating and maintaining of ARDA Website content; and
• Writing speeches for the Authority’s Leadership,

Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in either Public Relations, English/Communication, Journalism or Marketing;
A relevant Masters Degree will be an added advantage;
Candidates should have a minimum of five (5) years traceable hands-on experience in Public Relations at Management or higher level preferably in the Agriculture Sector;
Excellent report wiling and presentation skills;
Higher level of professionalism and demonstrable ability to handle confidential information; Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks;
Proficient with Information and Communication Technology.
