MUNICIPALITY of MARONDERA
WATER & WASTEWATER TECHNICIAN (GRADE 12)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the above-mentioned post that has arisen within this organization. Reporting to the Director of Engineering Services, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
Key Result Areas
Overseeing the daily operations of the municipal water & wastewater systems. Supervision , monitoring and control of water supplies and wastewater subordinate staff Directing activities of potable water production, laboratory techniques for water supply systems. Design, construction, contracts administration and supervision of water and wastewater infrastructure projects Preparation of reports, budgets and work schedules for management and public information systems. Ensuring water supplies and wastewater systems compliance with set local and international standards. Operation and maintenance of chemical dosing, mechanical and electrical equipment. Overseeing the general outlook of all municipal water and wastewater infrastructure. Performing any other duties assigned to by the Director of Engineering Services.
Qualifications and Attributes
Minimum of a Diploma in Civil Engineering / Water Resources Engineering / Water and Sanitation Management or Equivalent. A Higher Diploma in the relevant field will be an added advantageMinimum of 5 years’ experience in the management, operations and maintenance of municipal water and waste water systems. Experiences in Local government selling will be a distinct advantage. Clean class bur (4) driver’s license is a must.
