Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering or equivalent field
• At least 8 years relevant experience.
• Proven past leadership experience
• Experience in power generation projects is mandatory
• Professional engineering accreditation (Engineering Council of Zimbabwe).
• Professional membership (ZIE Corporate Membership)
• Project management professional certification (PRINCE2/PMP)
• Strong technical, problem solving, decision-making, project management, and computer skills
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and work in a team environment
• Familiar with the FIDIC contracts, experience with the Silver book
• Must have understanding of PLC and control panel wiring diagrams and instrument installation. Proficiency in control system logic.
• Preferred design experience: familiarity with power plant process drawings such as flow diagrams
Key Responsibilities
• Observes work in progress to ensure that procedures are followed and materials used conform to required specifications
• Serves as technical lead on electrical engineering aspects of the projects by providing end-to-end technical and leadership contributions and support to ensure project success.
• Leads a project team of C&I Engineers and Technicians
• Oversees the review of design submissions, vendor quality surveillance, factory acceptance tests, installation works and site acceptance tests relating to C & I equipment.
• Ensures that specifications include all required drawings, and adherence/compliance/identification of accepted standards
