About the Company
Masvingo City Council is the local authority governing Masvingo, the oldest urban settlement in Zimbabwe and capital of Masvingo Province. The council oversees municipal services including water supply, sanitation, road maintenance, waste management, and urban planning for the city that serves as the administrative and commercial hub near the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Great Zimbabwe. As a tier of Zimbabwe's decentralized government structure, it operates under the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works, collecting rates and levies to fund service delivery for residents and businesses. The council also manages public markets, cemeteries, and licensing within its jurisdiction, playing a central role in the economic and social development of this southeastern Zimbabwean city.
