Role Overview

The Cargo Supervisor will be the main contact for operational matters and will manage cargo warehouse operations and freighter ramp activities at the appointed station.

The role focuses on operational performance, safe and secure handling, and on-time delivery of high-profile shipments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise freighter ramp operations to improve on-time performance.
  • Plan and support complex cargo loads for passenger and freighter operations.
  • Train, coach and advise ground-handling staff.
  • Inspect cargo operations for compliance with safety, security, regulatory and company requirements.
  • Support revenue targets, service delivery, cost savings and compliance.
  • Work flexible shifts and across operational positions as required.
  • Support ad-hoc tasks at other stations.
  • Manage special services, products and VIP shipments from acceptance to delivery.
  • Raise purchase requisitions, purchase orders and goods receipt notes in SAP, and check supplier invoices.
  • Escalate medium- and high-level risks to the appropriate management personnel.

Requirements

  • At least three years of cargo operations experience, or equivalent, and a high school diploma.
  • Knowledge of cargo handling processes, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Understanding of computer airfreight specifications.
  • Training in Dangerous Goods, Cargo Operations, Security, Quality or Auditing is an advantage.
