Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to the coke oven battery and by-products plants
- Monitor coal quality from various mines and recommend optimum blending ratios to ensure the production of coke quality that meets customer specifications
- Metallurgical accounting
- Develop and maintain process control strategies that enhance plant stability and performance
- Lead investigations into process upsets, production losses, quality deviations and equipment performance issues
- Lead plant improvements projects
- Compile and keep month-end and year-end sectional reports on plant throughput, efficiencies, utilization, availability and operational unit costs
- Collate sectional budget information and liaising with coking coal preparation sections
- Carry out safety, health and environmental inspections
- Ensure adherence to SHEQ standards and procedures and regulatory requirements
- Lead, manage and provide guidance in training operations teams to ensure efficient and effective operations
