The Research Council of Zimbabwe (RCZ) was established in 1986 as a statutory body to promote, direct, supervise and coordinate research across the country. Headquartered in Harare, RCZ works closely with universities, research institutions and industry to identify priority research areas that support national development. It provides funding, policy guidance and capacity‑building programmes to strengthen Zimbabwe’s research ecosystem. RCZ also manages the national research database and facilitates collaboration between local and international partners.
