Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot integrated mechanical, electrical, electronic and automated systems.
- Support automation and control systems used in mining and mineral-processing operations.
- Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, sensors, actuators, motors and variable-frequency drives.
- Assist with installation, commissioning and optimisation of automated processing equipment.
- Integrate mechanical equipment with electrical and control systems.
- Support PLC, HMI and SCADA troubleshooting and optimisation.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify recurring faults.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.
- Work with mechanical and electrical engineering teams during plant upgrades.
- Train local technicians and engineering personnel on automated equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Control Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant engineering experience, preferably in mining, mineral processing or heavy industry.
- Practical knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, sensors, actuators and variable-frequency drives.
- Knowledge of industrial automation and control systems.
- SCADA experience will be an advantage.
- Strong multidisciplinary troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in mining and mineral-processing environments.
- Strong technical and analytical abilities. Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
