Position: SHEQ Graduate Trainee x1 (2-Year Program) Job Purpose The vacancy exists for a young, dynamic, self-driven, and creative SHEQ Graduate Trainee to be based at Pickstone Peerless Mine and undergo a structured 2-year graduate learnership programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Business Management System (BMS) across the mine.
  • Assist Fatal Risk Champions to develop and implement critical controls.
  • Follow up and track action plans.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and other requirements.
  • Participate in leadership walkabouts.
  • Facilitate incident investigations and generation of incident reports.
  • Carry out SHEQ training and awareness programmes.
  • Encourage recording and reporting of leading and lagging indicators.
  • Carry out Internal Audits and Root Cause Analysis.

Requirements

  • Upper Second Class (2.1) or better Honours Degree in Safety, Health and Environmental Management or an equivalent qualification from a reputable university.
  • Not more than 26 years of age by December 2026.
  • Outstanding organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong ethics and reliability.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
