Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Strategies, Policies and Procedures so as to create a highly effective Procurement Management Unit.
  • Scouting for competitive local and international suppliers of company’s key raw material and preparation of all imports documentation.
  • Preparation of company Procurement Plans, individual plans and any other procurement related reports.
  • Overseeing the Procurement of goods and services in accordance with procurement regulation and in a competitive manner.
  • Preparation of bidding documents and managing procurement contracts.
  • Managing the Procurement Management Unit.
  • Maintaining records on all procurement proceedings and related matters.
  • Identifies and researches for potential new suppliers.
  • Advising the Chief Executive Officer on all critical procurement matters.
  • Procurement, in a timely manner, of all key raw materials, spare parts, consumables, outsources stationery and other general company requirements.
  • Supervising the procurement staff members in an effective manner ensuring full adherence to the Procurement Law and Regulations.

Requirements

  • BSc degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business Administration.
  • Procurement professional qualification
  • Membership to Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) an added advantage
  • MBA/relevant Master’s degree an added advantage
  • At least five (5) years working experience in a public procurement environment at management level
  • Working knowledge of Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act -PPDPA Act [Chapter 22:23]
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as dexterity in “reading” the market.
  • Talent in negotiations and networking.
  • Good knowledge of supplier or third party management software.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers.
  • Experience in collecting and analysing data.
  • Strong leadership capabilities.
  • A clean Class Four driver’s licence
