Zimbabwe Media Commission is inviting suitably qualified candidates to fill the following posts that have arisen at the Commission.

Superintend over the formulation, implementation and evaluation of financial and administration management systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient management of the Commission’s operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Presides over the preparation of estimates of expenditure for both recurrent and capital requirements of the Commission.
  • Develop strategies for the mobilization and control of financial resources to ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational requirements.
  • Monitor the management of all the financial resources from appropriation and statutory funds.
  • Oversees the adherence to statutory requirements and the Accounting Officer’s instructions as stipulated in the Public Finance Management Act in respect of the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for appropriation and statutory fund.
  • Coordinate the production of audit statements of Accounts for Commission to facilitate regular reporting and the preparation of responses to Audit observations raised by the Internal Audit Manager and the Auditor General’s Office.
  • Manage the Commission’s Asset register, Inventory and fleet
  • Put in place an effective and efficient Administration system for the Commission.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge in Financial Management and Administration
  • Master’s degree in relevant fields or degree and post graduate qualifications in relevant fields.
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience at senior management level in Finance and Administration within the Government or Parastatal.
  • Possession of a professional qualification in Administration would be an added advantage.
  • Proficient in the SAP system
  • Conversant with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMS) and Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets (PPDPA) Acts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strategic leadership and team building skills.
  • Ability to employ information communication technology in financial management and administration.
