Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Managing and controlling all stock in the pharmacy stores and hospital
• DDA control and administration.
• Capturing of invoices for all stock received.
• Transferring stock to and from the wards and other locations.
• Managing expired stock within the hospital.
• Issuing ward stock to the various locations.
• Placing weekly orders for the pharmacy stores and main pharmacy.
• Ensuring accurate stock levels.
• Dispensing medications for inpatients and outpatients.
• Controlling and managing the emergency drug cupboard.
• Providing help, advice and information to all patients and customers.
• Communicating with Drs, regarding script errors/changes/out of stock items, as well drug information when required.
• Managing the pharmacy assistant/technicians and ensuring their work is efficient and accurate.
• Keeping the pharmacy, pharmacy stores and emergency drug cupboard clean and tidy.
• Providing reports when requested.

Requirements

• Degree in pharmacy or pharmacology.
• Valid license to practice as a Pharmacist.
• Detailed understanding and knowledge of dosage requirements and administration chemical compounds and pharmaceutical brands.
• 18 months experience in a similar position.
• Great attention to detail.
• Physical and mental fortitude.
• Professionalism.
• Great alertness, analytical and observation skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
