Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced, self-motivated and task oriented individuals to fill the above position that has arisen within the Engineering and Technical Services Department.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
The incumbent should be a team player who is sober mannered, responsible, adaptive, innovative and technology-embracing, hands-on character of sound supervisory skills possessing the following minimum qualifications and skills:

> A National Certificate in Civil Engineering from a ZimCHE-recognised institution or in-house training certificate from the Department of Roads.
> 5 ‘0’ Levels including English and Mathematics (distinct advantage)
> Computer literate with knowledge Word and Excel being mandatory.
> A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar position.

> At least two (2) years’ experience in a road construction and maintenance environment.
> A clean class 4 drivers’ license is a must.
> Thorough knowledge of methods, equipment and materials used in road construction maintenance operations
> Knowledge of safety practices in road construction and maintenance work; > Knowledge of budgeting techniques;
> Knowledge of the principles of supervision, training and personnel management.
> Ability to:
o Plan, organize and administer extensive road construction and maintenance program;
o Coordinate and direct the work of a large staff engaged in a variety of road maintenance and repair activities;
o Understand and interpret engineering plans and specifications;
Prepare reports and correspondence;
o Maintain accurate records;
o Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide spectrum of stakeholders

The incumbent will be reporting to the Roads Technician and will be responsible for:
> Construction & Maintenance of road network in Mutare City.
> Operation and management of the Asphalt Plant.
> Ensuring that roads-related customer complaints are redressed timeously.
> Supervision of contract employees, contractors and developers on all road works within the city.
> Supervision of sub-ordinates and appraisals thereof as well as maintaining discipline and customer care in the division
> Ensuring quality of all road works whilst conforming to health and safety policies, regulations and standards.
> Any other duties within reason as may be assigned by immediate supervisor or head of Department (H.o.D)
