Payroll Officers – 2 Posts
Responsibilities
• Capture and update employee payroll records e.g. mortgage loans, garnish orders etc.
• Accurately capture payroll input and monitor the generation and issuance of pay slips.
• Interpret awards, agreements, contracts and court determinations for payments.
• Check registration of new employees with NSSA and Old Mutual.
• Assess service provided by funeral parlors to see if it is in line with the Service Level Agreement.
• Attend to employee salary queries timeously.
• Compile payroll month end journals and other Payroll reports.
• Liaise and advise Human Capital (HC) Administration personnel On Payroll issues.
• Prepare schedules for disbursement of third party payments.
• Prepare information for staff costs budget.
• Print and secure payroll reports for Audit.
• Request funds from Old Mutual upon death of an employee in line with funeral fund rules.
• Keep abreast with company policies and tax legislation that impact on remuneration.
• Any other duties that may be assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
• Higher National Diploma or degree in Human Resources Accounting / Economics or any related discipline.
• Knowledge of SAP HCM Payroll is a distinct advantage.
• A minimum of three (3) years’ payroll supervisory experience.
• Clean class 4 driver’s licence is a prerequisite.
Other Attributes
• Excellent skills in using MsExcel and MsWord.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and people skills.
• Self-starter with ability to work under pressure and beyond stipulated hours.
• Unquestionable integrity.
