ONE AREA SECURITY OFFICER (SOUTHERN AREA) : SECURITY SERVICES BRANCH : BULAWAYO
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Zimbabwean citizens to fill the abovementioned position. Reporting directly to the Security Services Manager, the incumbent of the post will be required to provide a security service to his/her Area of control.
1.Administering, planning and directing the activities of the Security Services Branch in their Area of control and ensuring efficient operations thereof.
2.Ensuring the protection of designated areas, installations, equipment, trains, travelling public, cash in transit, customer goods, explosives, etc. through designing and enforcing crime prevention and investigation methods.
3.Conducting periodic Area specific Security surveys and recommending implementation.
4.Analyzing crime trends, maintaining graphs to indicate same daily and compiling monthly and annual case reports.
5.Providing advisory services on security matters to Railway Management, customers and other Branches/Sections of the Railways in Area of jurisdiction.
6.Maintaining a high standard of turnout and discipline by all Security staff and ensuring that they adhere to laid down procedures.
7.Liaising with the ZRP, other security forces, the prosecution and utilities at provincial level with regards to interchange of views and vital security
information as well as the investigation and prosecution of crimes committed against the National Railways of Zimbabwe in their Area of control.
8.Conducting Line tours, checking all Security books and records and ensuring that all investigations are logically concluded.
APPLICANTS FOR THE POST MUST :-
a)Have a Security and Risk Management Degree or equivalent. Applicants
in possession of National Railways of Zimbabwe Management Development Programme Certificate will be considered.
b)Have at least 3 years experience as a Security Controller or Superintendent
(ZRP) or Major (Zimbabwe National Army) and should not be above 45 years of age.:
c)Have proven ability to manage investigations and ability to draw up strategies for crime prevention, operational and contingency plans for the Area.
d)Possess an analytical and enquiring mind coupled with an above average ability to investigate.
e)Be able to communicate in English fluently both verbally and in writing.
f)Be fully conversant with both Criminal Law Codification and Statute Law applicable to Zimbabwe at enforcement levels.
g)Have a Crime free record.
h)Possess a clean Class 4 Drivers Licence.
Any Security related qualifications and acceptable documents will be an added advantage.
