Laboratory Manager: Mineral Processing
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 8) in Chemical/ Mineral Engineering in Metallurgy or an equivalent qualification with at least three years of experience in managing a metallurgical or chemical laboratory. Excellent English communication skills (oral and writing). A Master’s degree will be an advantage. Ability to provide hands-on-training to students on interpreting metallurgical test-work results.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, upgrade and maintain laboratory facilities; supervise and coordinate the activities of laboratory technicians; prepare budget projections for laboratory equipment, materials and components; assist the Head of the Department in the purchasing of equipment; order components and materials for laboratory work and avail to students; propose new developments of laboratory facilities and coordinate the experiential training of students for the department.
GENERAL FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lecturing, research, curriculum development, community service and administration.
