Laboratory Assayer
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the post of Laboratory Assayer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise sampling of processing samples and receiving of ore samples
- Sample preparation and analysis of ore mine, exploration, metallurgical lab and plant samples
- Geochemical analysis
- Operation of AA machine
- Maintenance of complete and accurate records of all samples
- Preforming housekeeping and routine maintenance of equipment
- Responsible for the quality and accuracy of all submitted samples prepared for analyses
- Must follow all applicable safety procedures to safeguard personnel and equipment while performing daily tasks
- Ensures compliance of the processing plant and people to the laid down HSE policies and procedures
- Ensures compliance with statutory requirements from the statutory bodies
The ideal candidates should have at least the following minimum qualifications:-
- ND, HND Metallurgical assaying or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in gold laboratory environment
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- This includes ability to follow through and complete assignments given to them by their supervisor
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
- Excellent verbal, written and analytical skills
- Ability to set up a new laboratory
- Ability to develop laboratory standards
- Capacity to train subordinates
- Experience with aqua regia and fire assay hands-on
