The Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe (CAAZ) is the statutory body responsible for regulating and overseeing civil aviation activities throughout Zimbabwe. Established under the Civil Aviation Act, CAAZ manages the country’s airspace, certifies airlines and airports, and ensures compliance with international safety standards at facilities including Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Harare and Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport in Bulawayo. The authority also provides air navigation services and promotes the development of aviation infrastructure to support Zimbabwe’s connectivity with regional and global markets. As a member of the International Civil Aviation Organization, CAAZ works to align Zimbabwe’s aviation sector with global best practices while fostering economic growth through safe and efficient air transport.
