Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze EU electricity market reforms and their implementation by Member States.
- Assess capacity mechanisms, renewable support schemes-including two-sided contracts for difference, power purchase agreements and auctions-and state aid frameworks.
- Compare national electricity markets, policies and investment frameworks to identify best practices and regulatory gaps.
- Work with FCA’s Cleantech Analyst team to turn technical findings into practical policy recommendations.
- Prepare policy briefs, reports, amendments and other advocacy materials.
- Collaborate with the Communications team on messaging, articles, blog posts, presentations and related content.
- Participate in energy systems policy coalitions and projects, including work on EU geothermal policy.
- Help organize events that bring together EU institutions, policymakers, innovators and industry representatives.
Requirements
- A master’s degree in a relevant field, such as economics, energy policy, electrical engineering or a related discipline.
- At least three to four years of relevant work experience.
- Strong expertise in EU electricity market design.
- Excellent analytical and research skills, including the ability to interpret complex technical information and develop clear policy recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing policy documents, presentations and reports.
- A proactive, collaborative and detail-oriented approach, and the ability to work effectively in an international, dynamic environment.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Eligibility to work in Belgium at the time of application and for the full duration of the contract.
