ZMDC

Zimbabwe Mining Development Corporation (ZMDC) is a state-owned mining company established under an Act of Parliament and operating under Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Mines and Mining Development. Headquartered in Harare, the corporation oversees a portfolio of mining assets across the country, including Sabi Gold Mine near Zvishavane, Kamativi Mining Company in Matabeleland North, and Sandawana Mines in Mberengwa. Its activities span gold, lithium, and gemstone production, and mining proceeds from ZMDC have contributed to the growth of the Zimbabwean economy. The corporation also holds interests in national ventures such as the Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company, which manages the country’s diamond resources. As a key state mining entity, ZMDC remains a major player in Zimbabwe’s minerals sector.
