The Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund (ZIMDEF) is a Zimbabwean statutory fund established to finance the development of skilled manpower in the country. Headquartered in Harare, it collects and administers an manpower development levy from employers, which is channelled into technical and vocational education, apprenticeships, and other human capital development initiatives. ZIMDEF supports institutions such as polytechnics, industrial training centres, and universities across Zimbabwe, and has also funded infrastructure projects including specialised facilities. Its work is central to national efforts to build a competent workforce that supports Zimbabwe’s economic growth.
