Zvandiri Team Leader x 1 — Southern Region

Job Summary

The Zvandiri Team Leader — Southern Region is responsible for defining, planning, tracking,
managing and leading the work of the Zvandiri Mentors (ZM) within the following provinces:
Mashonaland West, Midlands, Bulawayo, Matabeleland South, Masvingo and Matabeleland North
and coordination ofthe scale up of Africaid’s Zvandiri model and Community Adolescent Treatment
Supporters (CATS) across the Northern Region. Ensure quality at all levels of programme
implementation, monitoring and evaluation, finance and reporting.

Roles and Responsibilities

Key Performance Area #1: Training, mentoring and supervision LOE: 40%

  • Provision of training, mentorship and supervision to the Zvandiri Mentors (ZMs) at provincial
    and regional level
  • Coordinate management and technical decision—making
  • Oversee and manage quarterly supervision meetings with ZMs and Zvandiri interns (le)
    Monitor and track programmatic work ofthe ZMs and le during site visits to the district offices
    and facilities
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals for all ZMs and le within the region
  • Remain up to date with paediatric and adolescent HIV global and national policy and practice
    and cascade within the provinces

Key Performance Area #2: Coordination of M&E and programme LOE: 40%
activities in the provinces

  • Oversee all Game Changer activities in the provinces in accordance with the approved
    project work plans
  • Develop and maintain, in coordination with the Zvandiri Mentors and Zvandiri Interns, a
    detailed project work plan for the provinces and region
  • Manage project deliverables in line with the project plan and make necessary adjustments
    consistent with plan objectives if need be.
  • Record and manage project issues and escalate where necessary
  • Ensure that the project is delivered on time, to budget and to the required quality standards
    Liaise with the Head of Game Changer for planning and reporting on project activities and
    progress
  • Monitor project progress and performance in line with the project M&E plan
  • Conduct on site data validation exercises on submitted data from ZMs prior to submission to
    national office
  • Review and analyse M&E data and recommend adjustments to design as needed.
  • Entry of data as detailed by the MECAR manager
  • Consolidate project reports and analyse results
  • Ensure timelines on submission of progress reports are observed as required for Africaid and
    the project donors
  • . Participation in the documentation of case studies, key lessons learnt, success stories and
    best practices

Key Performance Area #3: Liaise with partners and stakeholders LOE: 15%

– Liaison with partners and local stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of project
activities

Key Performance Area #4: Perform other duties as assigned LOE: 5%

– Perform other duties as required

Requirements

Education/Training

– Master’s degree in social work, social science or related field

Experience

– Minimum three years’ experience in community development and/or mobilisation
– Experience working with children and adolescents

– Comprehensive understanding ofthe Africaid Zvandiri Model desirable

– Technical working knowledge of HIV

– Knowledge of and familiarity with the Ministry of Health and Child Care

Personal Characteristics

– Excellent report writing and computer skills

– Excellent written and oral communicator

– Fluency in English and Shona with knowledge of Ndebele a plus
– Ability and willingness to travel frequently within Zimbabwe

– Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts
