UZ-UCSF Collaborative Research Programme is seeking a suitably trained, qualified, competent, talented and multi-tasking applicants to fill the post of Outreach Worker to be based in Harare.
BSc Degree in Social Science (with a bias in community Psychology) or any equivalent qualification; Professional background; social work, teaching or nursing; Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team; Ability to make use of mapping techniques to establish the location of participant residences and other locator venues; Ability to disseminate information in a variety of ways; Preparedness to work with people of different backgrounds; Ability to de-role when entering the community; Fluent in local languages.
Maintain a system of confidential and accurate records; Establish a mutual working relationship with stakeholders in TB and HIV/AIDS prevention and/or treatment and social welfare; Raise awareness among the greater Harare community and Chitungwiza about the Study; Formulate a working strategy for recruitment of suitable participants for the study; Maximize retention of enrolled participants through immediate and timeous follow up; Communicate regularly with the community advisory board to increase awareness of the Study; Active review and update of the participant locator information; Maintain a detailed tracking database to enhance effective follow up of participants; Compile detailed weekly reports on recruitment and retention activities.
