Two (2) Nurse Counsellors/Outreach: UZ-UCSF Collaborative Research Programme

UZ-UCSF Collaborative Research Programme is seeking a suitably trained, qualified, competent, talented and multi-tasking applicants to fill the post of Nurse Counsellors/ Outreach to be based in Harare.

Qualifications and experience
Applicants should hold a diploma or degree in nursing and midwifery; Applicant must have a minimum of 3 years in reproductive health research; Experience of handling confidential patient records; Experience in discussing clinical and sometimes sensitive subjects with potential and actual participants, including TB risks and transmission, HIV transmission, sexual practices, and health history, is required; Experience with working in a TB management in a TB clinic setting, specifically MDR-TB will be an added advantage; Certificate of  systemic counselling from a recognized institution

Duties and responsibilities
Duties will include but not limited to the following: Administering participant informed consent; Ensuring proper screening, enrolment and follow-up of study participants; Performing examinations of study participants; Collecting specimen on study participants according to Protocol guidelines; Conducting TB infection control, drug adherence counselling, and HIV risk reduction counselling to participants; Prompt reporting of serious adverse events to the medical officer; Maintaining proper documentation of  participant information

Desirable skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills especially when communicating with community members; Excellent organizational skills; Non-judgemental attitude; Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary research team; Ability to work with strict deadlines; Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism; Ability to work with minimal supervision
