UZ-UCSF Collaborative Research Programme is seeking qualified, competent, talented and multi-tasking applicants to be based in one of our Clinics in Harare.
Qualifications and experience
A minimum of 5 “O” level passes; Clean class 4 drivers licence; At least 5 years driving experience; Clean class 1 will be an added advantage; Defensive driver`s licence; Experience in working in research projects is an added advantage; Fluent in both English, Shona and/or Ndebele; Knowledge of basic vehicle mechanics desirable; Good knowledge of the country roads and routes
Ensures the provision of reliable and safe driving services; Drives the study personnel and other authorized personnel as directed; Transports authorized passengers, deliver and collect mail, documents and other items as directed; Ensures cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs for the planned maintenance of the vehicle; Ensures daily maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car washing etc; Ensures that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are observed in case of involvement in accidents; Taking note of any faults that may develop on the vehicle and bringing them to the attention of the transport department as soon as possible; Ensuring that the vehicle has the necessary accessory tools as should be equipped, e.g. jack, wheel spanner, spare wheel and fire extinguisher; Responsible for a project cell phone and ensuring that calls are restricted to business only.
