Publications Assistant: SAfAIDS

SAfAIDS is a regional NGO working in southern Africa. It is a centre of excellence that promotes effective and ethical development responses to sexual reproductive health and rights, HIV and Gender through advocacy, communication and social mobilisation. SAfAIDS is looking for Interns/Volunteers. This is a great opportunity to learn and apply valuable skills that will translate well to any non-profit organisation.

Location: Harare
This is an entry level administrative and support post in the Regional Publications and Documentation Team. The right person must be client focused, have a “can-do” attitude, show initiative and be a hard worker. He/she must be a good organizer, a people person with the ability to organize work outputs across multiple projects and countries (rural and urban), with large and small clients and across cultural contexts; A good first degree (Humanities/Development Studies/Journalism/Literature/Drama and Theatre Studies/Information Science); Good spoken and written English; Able to draft unit reports, workshop reports, concept notes, take minutes as well as support with draft TORs and contracts for content development, literature reviews, desk research, editing, proofing and design of materials; Interest in publishing and ability to support with basic quality checks of products and pre-testing of materials; Some experience of working with communities and diverse groups; Attention to detail and efficiency in application of skills; Must be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; Good with numbers and able to manage invoicing and payments; Good organizer and able to follow procedures
