Nutrition Officer: JF Kapnek Trust

JF Kapnek Trust is a registered charitable trust, which has been operating in Zimbabwe since 1986. JF Kapnek Trust seeks to improve family health, reduce child mortality and create educational opportunities for children of Zimbabwe through the implementation of scalable sustainable programs.

JF Kapnek Trust is seeking to fill the vacancy of Nutrition Officer will be based in Mashonaland West stationed at the Kadoma office. The position reports to the Program Manager. The Nutrition Officer is responsible for the day-to-day management and smooth running of the nutrition aspects of the ECD program in line with national and JF Kapnek protocols and with project proposals

The broad objectives of the position will be

Technical support & management
Support the school feeding programs ensuring full accountability for the program; Ensuring adherence to the current SAM protocols in the health facilities; Ensure quality supervision of diagnostic and treatment services at schools and clinics

Coordination & representation
Organize and implement the nutrition program and ensure that the program complies with Ministry of Health guidelines; In collaboration Program Manager, ensure that the local authorities and particularly the District/ Province Health Department is involved in the planning, implementation and monitoring of quality program; Liaise with key partners including District Health Departments, local leaders, NGO partners, and other stakeholders (as necessary) to ensure good links between malnutrition treatment and other sectors; Attend relevant internal and external meetings as directed by the Program Manager

Administrative and other duties
Provide monthly written reports on activities to the Program Manager; Participate in the follow-up of supplies consumption and orders of RUTF to local health facilities in the four districts being supported; Overall planning of stock levels, making sure that they are sufficient for the functioning of program; Orient new staff and visitors on the nutrition program and activities at the field level; Under the direction of the Program Manager, take up responsibilities such as overall program management; work planning; attendance at National/ State/ County level; Ensure any violations or non-compliance to the JF Kapnek Child Protection Policy are reported to the Country Director. The reporting of violations is an obligation on the part of all staff members.

Qualifications and experience required
Degree/Diploma in Nutrition/Public Health; Working experience of at least two years in Primary Health Care; Should be able to work with minimal supervision; Should be computer literate (Microsoft word and excel); Ability to work in a remote area

Program Manager: Nutrition Action Zimbabwe

Location: Mberengwa district

Nutrition Action Zimbabwe a local NGO formed in 2014 is seeking to recruit for the following vacancies to support a program to respond to the effects of the El Nino drought in Mberengwa district.

The Nutrition Program Manager is responsible overall management and smooth running of the nutrition activities of the program in line with national and NAZ protocols and with project proposals. The Program Manager will also be required to give an oversight of the Mberengwa operations with the support of the Country Director.

The broad objectives of the position will be

Program management & leadership at the base
Proposing a strategy for addressing the problem of malnutrition which is adapted to the local context; Timely and high quality implementation of planned activities within his/her programme and alerting the Country Director on any delays or excessive or under-use of resources; Timely and high quality reporting, both internal and external, of the activities of his/her programme, together with a critical analysis; Provide technical support to the team on the school feeding programs ensuring full accountability for the program; Ensuring adherence to the current SAM protocols in the health facilities; Ensure quality supervision of diagnostic and treatment services at schools and clinics

Management of staff, capacity building and motivation
Evaluation of the technical skill level of the NAZ teams; Identification of training needs; Skills development for NAZ staff in his/her programme; Ensuring the quality and pertinence of training programmes; established for the NAZ teams; The management of his/her teams (leadership, monitoring, motivation…)

Logistics and Administration Officer: Nutrition Action Zimbabwe

The Log Admin Officer ensures the delivery of timely and effective Logistics & Administrative functionalities of the NAZ Mberengwa office including guiding staff and the program on compliance with NAZ staff policies and procedures, liaising with local stakeholders and other related activities on relevant issues and coordinates delivery of logistics and administrative support services to NAZ in Mberengwa

Roles and responsibilities
Logistics Follow up; Supervises the supplies chain at the Base; Responsible for the fleet supervision and equipment; Assist in the management of the base security follow up Bases’ finances; Keep the base’s advance cash; Check compliance with purchasing procedures; Manage the accounting and administrative document sorting; Participate to the monthly cash forecast Human Resources Follow up; Update and file staff documents; Salaries processing; follow up and payment; Training following up; Staff contracts follow up

Qualifications and experience
Diploma/Degree in HRM/Logistics/ Admin/ Finance with a at least of 2-5 years professional experience with increasing levels of responsibility in administration and logistics management; Proven work experience with an INGO

Two (2) Drivers: Officer Nutrition Action Zimbabwe

The driver will transport people and equipment, and to ensure the maintenance of the vehicle under his responsibility

Qualifications, skills and experience
5 O Levels; defensive driving certificate; first aid certificate an added advantage; At least 3 years professional driving experience in an NGO; Knowledge of Mberengwa district is added advantage
