A local NGO is seeking services of a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. The position will be based in the programs department.
Key result areas
Lead the development of methodology related to Monitoring and evaluation (including data quality management, data collection, implementation, and analysis plans); Develop Monitoring and Evaluation tools as appropriate for the organisation and implement and coordinate all related activities, as required and in coordination with organisation/donor Monitoring and Evaluation standards; Provide key guidance to other departments on Monitoring and Evaluation protocols/instruments for on-going activity data collection; Produce monthly Monitoring and Evaluation reports; Assist programs team with capturing targets and results in accordance with donor requirements; Have knowledge in undertaking and developing annual data quality assessment (DQA) plans; Conduct environmental compliance monitoring of project activities in line with the approved donor Environmental Monitoring and Management Plan, and ensure timely delivery of feedback to program staff and relevant partners; Develop Monitoring and Evaluation training plans for staff; Provide support to the programs team to ensure that they use data to make decisions for improving the quality of interventions; Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and experience
At least a Degree in Social Sciences, Development studies, Peace and Governance or any other relevant field; A minimum of 3 years in similar position; Post degree qualifications in Monitoring and Evaluation a must; Good command of written and spoken English, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Demonstrate knowledge of at least 2 data analysis packages; Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds; Ability to travel long distances
